************************* FILENAME CONVENTION *******************************

Names of files that appeared in the magazine are configured with the
authors last name, a sequence number, and the extension ".txt". The
sequence should usually correspond to order in which the listings
appeard in print.

These files were all DOS files originally, so author's names may be
truncated to fit within DOS's 8-character filename limitation. Text files
have all been converted to the standard "newline only" Unix text format.

************************** ADDITIONAL FILES *****************************

The file UPDATE.DOC, if present, contains information about any
additions or corrections to material in the archive since the
original magazine publication.

If there are additional files (that did not appear in the actual
article) supplied to us by authors for inclusion with the published
code, they may be combined into a distinct tar.Z archive having the author's
name as filename (e.g., smith.tar.Z). To uncompress such an archive,
place it into a directory all by itself and follow the same procedure
used to uncompress the entire original code disk archive.

If you have questions regarding this code, please call or write us at the
address below, or send e-mail to: saletter@rdpub.com.
